## Charleston’s Magnolia Landing Development Progresses with Park Plans

The Magnolia Landing development in Charleston is set to include 26 acres of parks. Two of these parks, totaling 10.6 acres, are currently under review as part of the nearly 200-acre, $2 billion project.

Heriot Street Park will be located at the north end of Magnolia Landing, adjacent to Heriot Street and the Heriot Street Bridge, facing the Ashley River. Oceanic Street Park will be situated at the south end of the development, next to Oceanic Street and Monrovia Cemetery.

According to Maddie Short, a spokesperson for the development, Heriot Street Park is planned as a formal garden, while Oceanic Street Park will feature a dog park.

Houston-based Highland Resources initiated the Magnolia Landing project on February 28 along the Ashley River, near King Street Extension and Milford Street. The entire development is anticipated to take 20 years to complete. The planned parks were reviewed by the city’s technical review committee on September 24.
