HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — The May River Sharks travel to face the Hilton Head Seahawks on Friday in a Week 8 high school football game scheduled for Oct. 16 on the island.

Lowcountry schedule listings slot the contest in SCHSL Class 6-4A and list May River at 4-3 overall and 1-1 in region play, with Hilton Head at 6-1 and 2-0 in the region. The same Friday slate also sends Lucy Beckham to Beaufort and Colleton County to Bluffton.

Hilton Head leads the recent series 2-1 across three meetings on file since 2021. That history frames a county rivalry night even before kickoff.

Both programs sit inside the Beaufort County School District, which serves municipalities from the city of Beaufort through Bluffton and Hilton Head Island. Fans should plan for campus traffic near the Seahawks field.

Final scores will update after the whistle. Until then the story is venue, records and a familiar Lowcountry pairing on the Week 8 calendar.
