BEAUFORT, S.C. — Three nights remain for the 32nd annual Beaufort Ghost Tours, with costumed storytellers leading groups through the Historic District on Sunday and again Oct. 29 and 30.

The Exchange Club of Beaufort organizes the tours, and every dollar raised goes to the Child Abuse Prevention Association, a Lowcountry nonprofit founded in 1981 that runs foster care, parenting programs and the Open Arms Children’s Home.

Carriage rides, operated by Southurn Rose Buggy Tours, leave the 1006 Bay Street parking lot every 15 minutes beginning at 6:30 p.m. and last about 45 minutes. Tickets cost $30 for adults and $20 for children 3 to 11, and kids must come with an adult.

Walking tours gather at Cannon Park, opposite 611 Bay Street, and head out every 20 minutes starting at 7 p.m. They take about an hour and cost $20 for any age. The 7 p.m. walk welcomes strollers and pets.

Stops include The Castle, a waterfront home said to hold one of the oldest ghost legends in the country. Organizers recommend reserving a spot ahead of time through the association website or by phone at 843-52-GHOST.
