FESTIVALS

Beaufort Water Festival

This festival takes place every July on the waterfront, and features a variety of activities for all ages. There is live music, food vendors, and a kids’ zone with games and activities. There is also a boat parade and a fireworks show. The festival is a great way to celebrate the summer and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Beaufort.

Beaufort Shrimp Festival

This festival takes place every September and celebrates the Lowcountry’s love of shrimp. There are shrimp dishes from local restaurants, as well as arts and crafts vendors, and live music. The festival is a great way to try some of the best shrimp in the country and enjoy the laid-back atmosphere of Beaufort.

Original Gullah Festival

This festival takes place every May and celebrates the Gullah culture, which is a unique blend of African and American traditions. There is food, music, dancing, and storytelling. The festival is a great way to learn about the Gullah people and their culture.

Beaufort Oyster Festival

This festival takes place every October and celebrates the Lowcountry’s love of oysters. There are oyster dishes from local restaurants, as well as arts and crafts vendors, and live music. The festival is a great way to try some of the best oysters in the country and enjoy the fall weather in Beaufort.

Pat Conroy Literary Festival

This festival takes place every November and honors the legacy of Beaufort native Pat Conroy. There are workshops, tours, panel discussions, and book signings. The festival is a great way to learn about Conroy’s work and celebrate his contributions to literature.
