Among those arrested, three individuals are facing federal charges. They are:

  • William Omar Heyward, Jr., 44, from Burton
  • Ishmael Allen Rivers, 26, from Yemassee
  • Christopher Andrew Copeland, 26, from Beaufort

Additionally, two other individuals, Katie Shannon Bradham, 37, and Lindel Hugh Bonney III, 34, both from Beaufort, were arrested on outstanding warrants. All suspects were taken into custody without incident during the operation.

Charges Against the Suspects

William Omar Heyward faces an extensive list of charges, totaling 14, which include:

  • Possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine
  • Unlawful firearm possession
  • Possession of a machinegun with serial numbers removed
  • Using a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking crimes
  • Having prior convictions for possession of cocaine with intent to distribute
  • Possession of a firearm during drug trafficking

Heyward has a criminal history that includes over 12 months served in prison for previous convictions. Christopher Copeland is also facing federal charges related to his possession and intent to distribute methamphetamine, while Ishmael Rivers is charged with possession and transfer of a machinegun.

Law Enforcement Collaboration

The operation received additional support from Beaufort County Code Enforcement, Beaufort County Animal Services, Beaufort Police Department, and the Georgia State Patrol, highlighting the collaborative effort among law enforcement agencies to address rising concerns regarding drug-related crimes and illegal firearms in the region.
