Despite showing remarkable strength during her time in the intensive care unit at Wellstar Kennestone in Marietta, GA, an unexpected medical setback led to her untimely death.

Christi was reported to be recovering well before her condition took a turn for the worse. She was known for her resilience and positive outlook, never complaining throughout her treatment. Her passing has left a deep impact on her family, friends, and colleagues who cherished her vibrant spirit.

Bearing a legacy of love, Christi was born on July 6, 1970, at the Navy Hospital in Beaufort, SC, to 1st Lt. Barry Hanchett and Mrs. Hanchett. As the eldest of two siblings, she shared her childhood with her younger sister, Lyndee Hanchett, while growing up surrounded by numerous cousins in Michigan and Indiana.

Christi graduated from Beaufort High School in 1988, after having spent three formative years in Stuttgart, Germany due to her father’s military service. This time abroad ignited her passion for travel and nurtured her love for skiing, an activity that became a favorite pastime. Christi’s warm personality and ability to create friendships across different cultures were hallmarks of her character, making her a special connector among diverse groups.

Throughout her career spanning over three decades in the entertainment industry, Christi made her mark by selling tickets for a variety of events, including concerts, theater productions, and major sporting events such as the Masters and the Super Bowl. Her enthusiasm for her work helped bring joy to countless clients and patrons.

In June 1998, Christi met her future husband, David Hurst, and they tied the knot on May 11, 2002, in Beaufort, SC. The couple shared a loving relationship and renewed their vows in 2023 at a beachfront resort in Belize while celebrating 23 years of marriage. Although Christi and David did not have children, their home in Woodstock, GA, was filled with warmth, love, and their two cherished dogs.

Christi found joy in outdoor activities such as paddle boarding with her pets during visits to her family in Connestee Falls, NC. Her passion for life extended to various hobbies, including music, attending concerts, skiing, horseback riding, tennis, jet skiing, and water skiing. She thrived on being around people and dedicated her heart and soul to spreading happiness among her friends and family.

A visitation to honor Christi Hurst is scheduled for July 18, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Woodstock Funeral Home in Georgia. A funeral service will follow at the same location from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, concluding with a committal service at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA, from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM.
