BEAUFORT, S.C. — Beauforts waterfront is set for another Halloween Saturday on Oct. 17, when the city stages its yearly downtown celebration at Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park.
Morning and early afternoon slots run 10 to 2, with kid-friendly stations for crafts, games, prizes, face painting and a DJ aimed at younger guests. Candy hunting in the marina craft market opens at midday, and dress-up outfits are encouraged.
After dark, the park shifts to its fifth outdoor film night. Doors-for-the-lawn open at 6, and the cult classic Hocus Pocus starts at 7. Snacks include free popcorn, candy and soft drinks; Your Pie will have pizza for sale. Bring a blanket or a short lawn chair.
Nonprofit Building Brighter Futures and the J.P. Signature Group real-estate team are putting on the film block, with local law and insurance sponsors joining in. Downtown Manager Sarah Sutton is listed as the citys point person.
Organizers said partner groups and neighbors who show up each fall are what keep the waterfront tradition going.
