This cleanup effort will take place at Oyster Factory Park in Bluffton, running from 9 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Supplies necessary for the cleanup will be provided to participants. This initiative helps maintain the natural beauty of the Lowcountry’s waterways and coastal areas, an important aspect of life in Beaufort, known for its historic preservation and proximity to the water.
In Jasper County, the Friends of Pratt Memorial Library have announced new hours for their Preschool Story Time. The next session is scheduled for September 10 at 10:30 a.m. This story time will feature tales about tortoises, accompanied by related crafts and refreshments, in anticipation of the Gopher Hill Festival in October. On the same day as the story time, the library will also host a free diaper giveaway. The Pratt Memorial Library in Ridgeland has updated its operating hours: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesday from Noon to 7 p.m.; and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
