Shake Your Trail Feathers Race Coming to Mount Pleasant
Charleston County Parks is introducing a new race, the Shake Your Trail Feathers, at Laurel Hill County Park in November. The event, presented by Prisma Health Urgent Care and hosted by Charleston County Parks, will debut on November 7 at the Mount Pleasant park.
The race will feature a 5K, a 10K, and a Kids Dash. The 5K and 10K races are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. The Kids Dash will take place earlier, at 8:45 a.m.
Winners of the race will receive fixings for a Thanksgiving feast, and all finishers will be awarded a commemorative medal.
Registration for all races is required in advance through CharlestonCountyParks.com and will close on November 4. On-site registration will not be available. The cost for the 5K registration is $38, the 10K registration is $40, and the Kids Dash registration is $5.
The course at Laurel Hill County Park features natural, unimproved trails with occasional uneven terrain, ranging from hard-packed trails with roots to grass. Strollers are not recommended on the race course, and pets are not permitted. Participants are encouraged to bring their own water bottle. Individuals under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult.
Laurel Hill County Park is situated between Highway 17N and Highway 41 in Mount Pleasant. For the race, attendees must use the special event entrance located at 1400 Highway 41. Access through Park West will not be allowed for this event.
